Many of us especially those working ones, used to go for "happy hour" after work. There are reasons to go for that : avoid traffic jams, socializing with clients or friends, catch up with buddies and stay updated, etc..etc. Most probably we will order some alcoholic beverage if you happen to be in a pub or bistro.

So, let me share some recipe with you guys. I chosen two of my favorite alcoholic drinks.
Long Island Tea & Singapore Sling. Thanks to a friend of mine for recommended me the Singapore Sling.

    Singapore Sling
    1/2 oz grenadine syrup
    1 oz gin
    sweet and sour mix
    club soda

    1/2 oz cherry brandy

*Sweet and sour mix is a blend of lemon juice and syrup. To make your own, mix approx. eight ounces of lemon juice with two tablespoons of sugar.

Pour grenadine into the bottom of a collins glass, and fill with ice. Add gin, and almost-fill with equal parts of sweet and sour and chilled soda. Top with cherry brandy, and serve unstirred, garnished with a cherry.

*Sling-A tall drink made with either brandy, whiskey or gin, with lemon juice, sugar and soda water. It is served both hot and cold.

    Long Island Tea
    1/2 oz Absolut Citron Vodka
    1/2 oz Bacardi Lemon Rum
1/2 oz Jose Cuervo Citrico Tequila
    1 oz Tanqueray Gin
    Juice of 1/2 lemons
    1 splash coca-cola

Mix all ingredients together in a glass over ice. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake. Pour back into the glass and make sure there is a touch of fizz at the top. Garnish with lemon/lime wedge.

*The Long Island Iced Tea (LIIT) is the basis of many elaborate mixed-drinks. It dates to the 70's, named after the continental USA's largest island Long Island, in New York. Although it doesn't contain tea, it's taste is similar.

p.s: Recipes listed above are just part of my sharing with you all. Results might vary according to the brand of liquor of your choice. *psst...no guarantee for the results.*
