Entitlement? Nope. The remark was mostly tongue-in-cheek. I personally couldn't care less.

The entitlement comment wasn't necessarily aimed at you, just the latter. Sorry for the confusion. :)

So what is Apple waiting for with the iPhone 5?

Apple is adrift in a sea of uncertainty and confusion.

It was bound to happen, they've opened the door wide. The competition is rushing through.

This movie is getting very interesting.

I don't see how this is going to work... How are they going to keep the same battery life in this form factor? At this price point, or are they going to increase the prices? I'm not going to go back to my 3GS battery life.

Innovation: just what happened to Apple's innovative spirit when it comes to computers? The latest Mac Pro was fitted into the existing (and way oversized) G5 case. The MacBook was disappointing in that - proportionally - Apple did not shrink it at all or make it lighter than its predecessor (a design which had been in existence for about four years). There are more things, but I really don't want to sound like a troll here...

Apple needs to come out with new computer models that are unlike anything else out there. What about a tiny, thin ultraportable? What about a smaller tower,
An ultra portable or headless tower is innovation? The world is full of them. On the other hand, Front Row, Boot Camp, built-in iSight, Mag-safe connector, mighty mouse, much more bang for the buck iMacs, laptops and MacPro's do not count. As I remember, this time last year almost everybody was complaining about "obsolete" G4's in laptops and the limited number of hard drive and optical drive slots on the PowerMacs. I guess solving those problems does not count.

iPods is the cash cow and what did Apple do about it? Well, colorful nanos are cool, but I prefer a white one anyways. I'd think iPod camp would have a lot more to complain about. Geez...

You are just embarrassing yourself with that 'source'.

Read the 190 page structure report from the department of defense for yourself. My source was just a simple exert of the baseline report. Face the reality that we are over extended in many ways... and I am really glad your not handling my portfolio :P

I think it'd be awesome to organize an Orange County iPhone 5 run. When the time comes, post the thread, and we'll figure something out.

    I'll be there!

The iPad 2 is really awesome - a HUGE difference between the first and second - it's worth the wait!

Again - getting there at 6 AM should do you plenty good

I've got a question for you guys. Any of you Mac users that also run Windows on a box somewhere:

Are any of you really going to upgrade to Vista when it comes out? or are you going to wait at least a year?

I refuse to spend another dime @ Micro$oft.

Things seem to be smoother with my VZ iPhone 4 opening and closing programs. I always though my iPTouch 4G was snappier than my VZ iPhone but I think they are on par with each other now. This probably has nothing to do with it, but I just did a speedtest and I have yet to ever hit those numbers until now. I was averaging anywhere from 650-1200kbps and sometimes 1500kbps on rare occasions.

(Picture will resize if it is huge. I apologize. It just takes a little bit of time for Photobucket to catch up.)

My upload is better, but my download is the same.

In response to the ebay comment, why are they seemingly so dumb? ... Don't people do ANY research?

Please try to keep posts on topic. :o

I bought a kensington wireless mouse/keyboard combo yesterday for my PC. There's no chance of me returning it for this thing... I've got the wired MM and its flakey enough as it is.

    That's all you got?

    What don't I get?

How I can get a 3GS for $50? Or how I can get a 3GS for $50 with a $10/month additional line? Please tell me how.

Or why paying 90% of the total cost for a 4 and only getting a 3GS is a good deal.

Uh the fact that if you have a cellphone unless you want to pay for something that doesn't do what you want it to do, you are going to pay for a plan regardless so one really should not factor that in to the cost of the device (as it is assumed you are going to want cellphone service if you have a cellphone. And what cellphone you get does not affect the cost of your service so the service cost is irrelevant).

The point is it is silly to factor in a cost that you are going to pay no matter what phone you get as to the cost of the phone. The phone does not affect that cost and therefore it should not be factored in (the only way not to pay that cost is to buy a cellphone that doesn't do what it's suppose to since you have no service to use with it or to just not buy a cellphone).

I can see the iPhone 4 coming out on T-Mobile in short order, probably once the white iPhone 4 is available. This way Verizon and T-Mobile will eventually be able to offer it as the lower cost iPhone in conjunction with iPhone 5. Right now only AT&T can exclusively offer the $49 iPhone 3GS alongside the iPhone 4. No carrier will have that exclusive low cost advantage with iPhone 5.

I think Apple launched iPhone 4 on Verizon while in the final phase of bringing it to T-Mobile.

Apple has received a great deal of favorable publicity in the last year as it introduced the iPhone and increased market share in computer sales. Whenever a company gets that kind of publicity, a number of people will buy its stock simply because it was mentioned in the newspapers, without really analyzing whether the stock was actually worth that or not. This halo effect can last as long as six months to a year, but it disappears on the appearance of any bad news, in this case a market downturn.

Apple was grossly overvalued because of all the publicity, so it was the first stock to be dumped when the market turned down. Now it is probably grossly undervalued. Personally, I stay away from volatility. There are too many people who are trading stocks, as opposed to investing in companies. There is a big difference. One is looking for a quick profit on a short-term change in price; the other is looking for long-term accumulation of value.

The short-term traders often do quite well and they brag about their successes, but overall their investments do not do as well as if they had put their money in slot machines in Vegas. That is why I stay away from volatility.

Okay, we know that, it will come eventually.

    It's really annoying.

    May 3, 08:24 AM
Wow. Apple is gradually starting to push more aggressive pricing. $1200 for a quad-core iMac is pretty decent. I'm happy with my "old" i7 for now. But the next iMac upgrade should be pretty amazing. (8-core base model?)

That's more to do with how Intel price their CPU's. The i5's in particular are extremely affordable, even for the top end model

Nope, I checked. No educational discount on the mighty mouse. :(

    Your kidding?

PS: Maybe I can get an Edu discount on it, also.

I wonder what the point of this connection is...seriously. I don't connect 20 HDD's at a time in RAID 0. The only use I could see for Thunderbolt over USB3 is when I am trying to use the same connection for a few 30" displays in CONJUNCTION with SSD's in RAID 0....

I just can't see anything using this type of bandwidth...not at least until SSD's completely dominate the storage market.
