    Apparently, a coalition of state retailers weighed in and convinced the legislature that not having to collect taxes would give Amazon an unfair sales advantage.

    Walmart and others are the biggies behind this. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it's all about their profits.

    Apple today released Canon Printer Drivers 2.3 for Mac OS X v10.6 (, an updated package of drivers for users of Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Canon printers and multifunction devices.

    The update weighs in at 281.16 MB and requires Mac OS X 10.6.1 or later. Full details of driver support for various Canon devices are available in Apple's associated support document (

    Update: While Apple's download page still lists the version as 2.2, the actual download indicates that 2.3 is now the latest version of the Canon drivers.

    1 to 1 is only offered at Apple stores or online. I've worked for Apple for years so I would know.

    And yes, you can technically purchase it within 14 days, but when you go in the staff will do their best to get you to get it the same day.

    Oh I totally agree - the specialists will do anything to get you to buy 1to1 with the macs...helps with their metrics.

    Here's an idea..go to the store and find a random customer buying a mac - give him/her 100$ to buy a 1to1 for you. Each customer can buy up to 5 1to1s, so you should be good.

    Otherwise, make something up and I'm sure the manager will allow it because even standalone 1to1s help the store's overall metrics.

    Who at age 15 gets asked to shoot video of hot chicks? Well done.

    I'm a total amateur and much older, but the advice above about the smoothness of the pans seems spot on. Watching the hot chicks video (the only one I watched) there was just so much motion it was almost dizzying.

    OWC and OCZ are very very similar in regards to build and firmware
    I am using an agility 2 in my 2008 macbook pro which I am typing on right now
    I also upgraded to 8GB of memory

    you can buy crucial, corsair, OCZ or OWC, any are fine
    I use an OCZ in my PC as well

    Whatever you do, make sure you update the firmware ASAP, before even installing into your mac
    if you have a PC, that makes it super easy, just plug it in and update
    if you don't, be sure to visit the SSD manufacturers website for the one you plan to buy, many of them require you to burn a disc and boot from the DVD drive (basically you running linux off a CD) and update it that way in your mac

    I myself like the 300Gb maxtor, it is a little bit noiser then the seagate but the 16mb cache does make it feel snappy. Besides it makes the most sense in $. It is jus a little bit more than less storage and a lot less than those with 400 or 500Gb. My 2 cents.

    For 3 platters you can get a 400GB Seagate.

    Thanks for the info!

    It is a new permanent color! :)

    I think those Amazon resellers didn't get the memo on it yet.

    I feel sorry for people who are going to pull a "PS3" and buy one to try to sell on eBay as "Limited" - or maybe even more so for the people fooled into buying from them...

    OWC is making a Mac Pro PCI Express SSD aren't they? I haven't heard about it in what seems like a few months.

    OWC, OCZ and FusionIO all said they are working on a fully Mac supported PCIe SSD. However, no one has heard any news yet and apparently they all took the information off their websites.

    Doesn't seem to happen any time soon, although I do see the necessity for it as the current SSDs already saturate the 6Gb/s SATA port. Given the trend of SSD development, single drives might be capable of 1GB/s sequential speeds in two years (give or take). I highly doubt that we'll see a 12Gb/s SATA port by then.

    I see where this si coming from though.
    I think whats happening is Apple is expanding so quickly that its harder for them to keynote all the developments within apple.
    Soon iPhone is going to be even bigger, and Mac will keep moving, growing, but not as fast as the iPhone.

    Maybe one day well see seperate keynotes for each product/market line.

    Either way Apple is going strong and the potential for iPhone (and Apple gadgets) and Mac OS X to move forward are huge.

    No complaints here.

    I just wish theyd say somethin about the bloody mac mini

    Can anyone tell me if it is possible to merge two or more images together using Aperture? Only have this and iPhoto at the moment.

    Looking for a package that will allow me to combine images (before and after scenario) for a range of engine components that i refurbish.

    Any recommendations for both bought or free software package's would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

    I'm considering that, but if I were not to have phone functionality, I think I'd be better off with twice the storage. Although the iPhone would have a mail client, I could always just use safari for mail.

    I'm only really interested in an iPod touch for now. I've already had a wii and it wasn't for me.

    Thanks to all!

    HI everyone, First I want to thanks all the help in here to solve my previous problem:)! It mains a lot to me!;)

    Now, I would like to use the preivous program to build a static library and try to test it.

    When I finish build the library and apply it for test, there are run times error occured:

    1>fortest.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: void __thiscall login::find(void)" (?find@login@@QAEXXZ) referenced in function _main

    There are four of them and I know they are the same things.

    I do not know how to fix them....:(

    The code:

    The header file is :

    #include <fstream>
    #include <string>

    class login
    void setuser();

    void write();

    void read();

    void find();

    char inputusername[99];

    The code file is :

    void find()

    ifstream file;"file.txt");

    string input=inputusername;
    string input_line;
    bool found = false;

    while( file >> input_line ) {

    psst... change your title. some ppl may get confused and think it's the *new* new iPhone.
    haha, I might just change it to Unreleased iphone for sale :P

    I'm not interested in the phone, as I already have my own soon-to-be-outdated iPhone. ;)

    But I had to comment on your avatar. Scrubs is my favorite TV program of ALL time!

    Awesome show.

    yes, it is a great show

    I tried it and it didnt work. I have a Sony Digital camera and it doesn't read it. Any other suggestions???

    Just a note, some cameras will work some wont. I'd definitely check out ichatusb. It has a free trial, so you dont have to buy if it doesnt work.

    Is this the EKM you refer to?

    If so, I don't think you are looking in the right place or the right tool.

    Sell online using PayPal? Check out their supported hosts.

    I am a Yahoo store developer and am partial to that platform for small business. That is probably out of your price range.

    Hi Yes thats the ekm I was talking about

    Are you looking for a text editor or a WYSIWYG editor? If you want a text editor then i would look at Coda ( or PHPStorm ( Both are pretty powerful IDE's for web design.

    I would prefer a WYSIWYG just purely because I haven't got that much free time and the quicker I can learn how to do things the better.

    Check our rapidweaver that would be perfect for what your describing.

    I did have a a look at rapidweaver but the comments about it on the app store don't sound too good, there are alot of people complaining about there being bugs in it.

    I appreciate everybody's answers but at the moment I'm still stuck as to which program to go for.
    Can anybody else help with any advice. Thanks

    Just to add a bit more information about what I'm looking for. I have quite a lot of photos that need to be put into some sort of album and the people can click on the image they require and then be taken to a page of information about that image and be able to purchase it online. I have seen a nice feature in iWeb where you can add albums of photos but you don't seem to able to link them to another page. Hopefully someone on here knows of a program I can use. Thanks again

    I see the speck you are pointing to in that picture, but is that even noticeable in normal usage?

    Yes it is. My background is a light grey colour so it shows up on that. And the fact that I know it's there means my eyes are drawn to it.

    Mar 20, 01:34 PM
    Yeah the buttons at the bottom of that window are the ones.

    Wow, they've completely changed the "about this Mac" screen for the first time in Mac OSX. Its looks way better, and you no longer need to go into the system profiler to get basic stats, or use iStat Pro. Wow...:D Can NOT wait to get Lion!

    It's still not in the dashboard so I'm not too sure about it replacing iStat Pro. Don't think I want to click :apple: -> About this Mac -> System and then view the information. Would rather just hit F4
