Free Night

I'll find that green fairy one day...
Finally we got a free night. And you can't imagine how good that sounds after having been on kids for over ten days. Los Belones took on a whole different aspect to us as we strolled around it at 12 in the night after having beer and Absnthe. I'm still on the quest for the green fairy (don't worry though, I'm exaggerating over here, it was hardly anything). We meet some geeky Spanish youngsters who thought we were so cool because we were foreigners and dicied to follow us wherever we went. Eventually we managed to escape them. Yep. It was grand.Source URL: http://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/2008/07/

Joe & Chelsea: Engagement Session

Meet Joe & Chelsea. I think the word FUN really describes their session well. They're big day is in November and yours truly get to be there to photograph it. Truly in love and made for each other.

This great couple opted to go to Santa Cruz to have their engagement session. We started at the park and made our way to the Boardwalk in the evening. And the skateboard shot.....kinda random, I know. We were killing time to get the right lighting and came up with this.

Did some different post processing on this set then my usual. I did some vintage stuff on some of the Boardwalk scenes. I think it feels nostalgic and retro. I dug it a lot.

Stay tuned, I have 4 weddings and 2 other engagement session along with some other stuff I've got cookin'. Feel free to drop the awesome couple a congrats while your here. Take care and enjoy the shots.

Studio update

I made some changes to the studio last week.
Needed the IKEA shelves in another room,
so I brought back the blackboard
and some metal shelves to organize all my stuff.
Oh! and I hung the bird cage by my desk
    to keep me company.
The Lovebirds came to me yesterday
and asked if they could temporarily use the cage
    while the new occupant arrived.
Of course, I said yes :)

[AG] WPJA

    Photobucket

I am absolutely delighted to say that today I have been accepted into The Artistic Guild of The Wedding Photojournalist Association.

It's probably best I let their words describe what they do and the photographers they represent:

"The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is a group of international wedding photojournalists, who capture unscripted wedding moments as they happen, and excel in the art of post-production image processing. The [AG]WPJA is a division within the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA); one which specifically promotes Fine Art Wedding Photojournalism

The Artistic Guild of the Wedding Photojournalist Association [AG]WPJA is comprised of outstanding wedding photographers, who are at the forefront of the wedding photography industry when it comes to enhancing images. The chief objective of the [AG]WPJA is to provide members with a platform where the finest enhanced, manipulated and/or artistic wedding photojournalism in the world is spotlighted and promoted for the bride and groom.

The [AG]WPJA is a separate division of the Wedding Photojournalist Association(WPJA). Whereas the WPJA upholds strict guidelines that forbid excessive picture manipulation, the [AG]WPJA encourages and fosters creative image enhancement, with the vision of promoting Fine Art Wedding Photojournalists.

As there are currently only 9 members working in England of the artistic guild I am over the moon to join their ranks. Last Weekend

On Saturday I photographed the wedding of the lovely Leah and Grant at St Mary Abbotts Church on Kensington High Street. It was a very humid day and this was a wedding full of love, fun, kids and dancing. As ever their full wedding story will follow shortly but for now here is a picture of Leah's lovely dress.

Then on Sunday I photographed the beautiful wedding of Tracy and Robert at Loseley Park. A very hot sunny day was enjoyed by the bride and groom and all their guests as it gave plenty of opportunity to explore the lovely grounds throughout the day. Also offering me so many great photo opportunities and a lovely light late into the evening. Their full wedding story will also follow shortly but here is a shot of Tracy's shoes, shot on the glass table that was also part of the floor of the first floor getting ready room. Very cool.

Dream Come True...Well, Sorta

I sang at the karaoke bar the other night. It's something I've been wanting to do for years. One of those love-it-but-hate-it things. Of course, when you're stuck in a town so tiny you can see the end of it on both sides, you welcome any distraction. Adam works in a bar right next door doing karaoke on fridays and saturdays, so Mel and I begged to sing.
Of course, I've never sung in front of people before, never mind a bunch of strangers. So it was pretty funny. I made Mel sing with me so I wouldn't die. Then we begged to be put on again, this time seperately.... it was fun.
So yeah, that's been pretty much the highlight of the week. You really should see this town. "Los Belones." Makes you want to cry.
I went to the beach yesterday. Second time in the whole year. I don't like beaches.Source URL: http://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/2008/07/

Rachael & Fergus wed on HMS Warrior

The lovely Rachael & Fergus tied the knot in the historic Portsmouth Docks on board the HMS Warrior. Everyone was treated to a very personal and emotional service below decks and then had the run of the ship for an hour afterwards. The reception was held at the Royal Naval Officers Ward Room, a building steeped in history with beautiful rooms and paintings throughout.
