This was my second trip up to Norfolk and the great venue of Cley Windmill in Cley next the Sea. As unusual and memorable venues go this is right up there. Perfect for a small wedding with just your close family and friends. This is exactly what Mel and Paul had in mind when they held their beautiful wedding here. One of those lovely photographic days with sunshine but nice fluffy clouds made shooting in and around the windmill a real pleasure. When your shooting a small wedding you really feel like you get to know everyone there which is not really possible at most weddings and with such a great couple and group of people this was a really special wedding to capture.
Detail on Mel's dress

Present time

A different ring shot

Mel helps her son get ready

I love this picture of them together

You get all sorts of angles at a windmill

The boys enjoy the early morning sunshine

And then disappear to the pub

One of the views of Cley Windmill

Back to the beautiful bride

I've shot in dark venues before but this beats them all (especially as no flash or lighting is allowed during the ceremony), fortunately technology has come a long long way

A tender moment between Mother and Son

It's just great to see two boys sitting down reading at a wedding instead of playing on a DS or PlayStation

The windmill balcony

Also useful for the occasional unusual angle

The youngest guest of the day

A real landscape favourite of mine

Mel looking gorgeous

Some time alone together

One of my favourites from the day

No caption required

No band or disco but still a lovely first dance

And to end, a night portrait under the sails
