JUNGLE BOOK... another look...

A few weeks ago I posted the JUNGLE BOOK background below.

Tonight, I realized after Baloo smashes through the doorway, we get an expanded view not only through the opened doorway, but also a significant pan to the left. (The door is obviously an animated cel overlay.)

Here's the terrific new digitally re-assembled result!

Back with THE JUNGLE BOOK!

I was without internet service for several days, and my laptop imploded. Geez!

So, with my laptop in the shop, and no internet, I had plenty of time to sit with my desktop computer, and digitally re-assemble some background art. I never get tired of Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK. Here are five "new" B/G pieces.

Finally, today (with a different service provider) I once again have digital internet access. Yay!

    Glad to be back!

    A wonderful reconstructed pan B/G

So you can savor the details and texture, its left side...

    and right side...

    and some more...

JUNGLE BOOK

THE JUNGLE BOOK

THE JUNGLE BOOK

Yep, you read it right. With all the brutishly cold weather many of us are experiencing (including those of us in L.A.), I thought a respite from the weather might be just the right thing. So... here's a new piece of pan background art from The JUNGLE BOOK I digitally re-assembled this evening. And as usual with long pan B/Gs, I've split it up so you can have a closer look. I hope this brings some warmth to your winter's night...

JUNGLE BOOK: Lush Underbrush

From the JUNGLE BOOK scene where Mowgli searches for a better look at the little girl, here is the re-created pan background. Gorgeous! The lush tropical landscape is beautifully executed. Note: the three large leaves in the right foreground (which were effecively animated using the multiplane camera layers).Source URL: https://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/search/label/THE%20JUNGLE%20BOOK

When the thundering steps of the elephant "Dawn Patrol" awaken Mowgli, a sleepy Bagheera remains perched in the tree, while the ever-curious "man-cub" makes his way to get a better look. Here's the entire re-created pan B/G. The cloudy skyline appears to be a distant shore shrouded in a morning haze. Only the artist could tell us for sure. But it is certainly another wonderful and intriguing piece of background art from this landmark Disney film.Source URL: https://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/search/label/THE%20JUNGLE%20BOOK

In honor of opening the 40th anniversary presentation of THE JUNGLE BOOK at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood, here are more B/Gs from this wonderful film. If you are in the Southern California area, don't miss this opportunity to see newly restored JUNGLE BOOK, complete with a half hour Mighty Wurlitzer concert of classic Disney melodies, and sing-a-long stage show with Baloo. Plus: a small but wonderful exhibition of production artwork. See you there!Source URL: https://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/search/label/THE%20JUNGLE%20BOOK

THE JUNGLE BOOK: Mowgli's View

THE JUNGLE BOOK: Mowgli gets Twitterpated!

This amazing JUNGLE BOOK background immediately follows Mowgli's first glimpse of the fairer sex, which prompts Baloo's warning: "They ain't nuthin' but trouble!" Mowgli then winds his way through (across) the pan B/G for a better look. All the key JUNGLE BOOK elements are here: dangling vines, ferns, palm fronds, and the ubiquitous aquamarine color palette. Note the texture of the tree in the center, and the lovely contrast of the single tropical flower on its gnarled branch. Another B/G that is lavish without being overdone, filled with detail but with great taste and just enough restraint to not overpower the character animation.Source URL: https://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/search/label/THE%20JUNGLE%20BOOK
