Leslie and Josh planned their wedding from Portland, OR. Their downtown Appleton ceremony was held among some of the city's largest events. It was the Appleton Flag Day Parade and Lawrence University's graduation. The city was crazy with streets being shut down and people everywhere. The UW-Madison marching band were even stationed across the street from the church!
In lieu of the downtown hustle and bustle the wedding went off without a hitch! Leslie was stunningly beautiful and Josh was handsome in his tux. The ceremony was held in the beautiful First English Lutheran Church across from City Park. Let me tell you, this church had it figured out. They had a huge "wedding staff" that took care of everything. From coordinators to music people and video to the soloists. It was nice!!!
After the ceremony the wedding party arrived in the area of Trolley Square where the reception was held. We did some unique and cool images in the area.
Some unique things about Leslie and Josh is that they first met in their college photography class! Leslie is a designer and Josh is a cartographer... so they have an eye for great work. Leslie designed and printed her wedding invites, program, favors and place cards.
I also love that Leslie and Josh ooze coolness. Their rings are one of the most unique sets I've ever seen I just loved photographing them!!! The other totally cool thing was the way they showcased their place cards.... they had wine corks with a magnet on them... the magnet held the place card on the trolley so guests could find their name and table. Coolness.
I had a very special "guest shooter" for this wedding. Rachel Hadiashar of MERGEweddings flew in from Boston to shoot with and for me for the week. We had a so much fun working together! To see some of Rachel's awesome shots check out her blog post.
This wedding was a blast! And to end the night right, we did the "farewell shot" with American flags.
