The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney, 1949)

Here's a special Halloween treat - wonderful background art from Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949).

There's a great variety here, with all the technical expertise you'd expect.

    Great stuff!

Guess where we went?

    Photobucket
Half term and off we went to Eurodisney for some family fun in some surprisingly good sun, for late October that is. As you would expect the kids adored the place and after five days exploring and spending we were all completely knackered.

Then to end the week, I had my belated Xmas pressie of an experience day at Thruxton race track. So although I spent most of the week on kids rides I got the best ride of all by racing an Aston Martin Vantage around the track. What a car and what a great experience. Obviously I now have to have one!
    Suits me, right?

Backyard Bubbles

Occasionally I do family portraits, usually for couples whose weddings I have photographed. Tammy and Matt asked to to photograph their family and so I spent a lovely sunny morning in their backyard.

Tiffani & Scott :: Green Bay Wedding

    September 12, 2009
St. John's Catholic Church - Little Chute

Reception - Oneida Casino, Green Bay

Tiffani and Scott planned a gorgeous wedding fit for a prince and a princess. Which is exactly the theme of their day. Tiffani chose a gown with a fitted bodice and long train, they had a castle cake and a fairytale book on every table at the reception.

It was an honor to document the wedding of two awesome people. Here are my favorites from the day...

Tiffani and her dad have a very special bond. They took dancing lessons and swirled around on the dance floor! It was so heartwarming to watch...

Fashion designers

    http://eicolab.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/fashiondesigner2.jpg
Fashion designers work to a fantasy of what the human body looks like. They are taught how to draw human figures in a distorted, idealised way.
The two figures in the middle are typical of fashion design drawings. Designs are based on these oddly proportioned, fantasy, body shapes.

The figures on either side were statistical averages from a series of anthropometrics studies done with US military personnel. Whilst limited to a select age range and profession, these nonetheless are based on measurable and observable reality. These are real body shapes. Fashion Design and

I always attach a sketch or photo AND fabric swatches to each worksheet. It makes the process so much easier. This worksheet gets utilized for both custom orders and assembly-line sewing.

Once I start “real” production (manufacturing) for the wholesale market this coming year, this worksheet will change as there will be things which will have to be done differently.Source URL: http://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/2009/10/

series of fashion

I am a haute couture designer and European stylist, I was taught by a designer at the age of 15 in a clothing manufacture in Montreal for a couple years, right now I am trying to sell these designs for the film and television industry or to designs for a well known company that required a fashion designer.

I know they are eye catching and very unique for people to admire their charming style, I have worked many years in creating fashion designs and because I am a versatile artist my imagination of creativity is extreme so I can concentrate on creating unique designs for different purposes, like for woman in different circles, youths, men chic suits and sports, for the Oscar gala, signers, actresses, etc.Source URL: http://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/2009/10/

Fashion design

A "well-kept secret" for SIUC is most definitely a secret no more, thanks to a quartet of talented young fashion design and merchandising students, said Laura K. Kidd, fashion design associate professor. After a recent major competition and show, fashion aficionados from the Midwest and beyond know that SIUC boasts a fashion design program and a very successful one at that.Source URL: http://lifestyleartsblogs.blogspot.com/2009/10/

Knock! Knock! (Universal/Lantz, 1940)

On a whim, I pulled out a collection of Woody Woodpecker cartoons recently. Having grown up on the sparse 1960s TV cartoons, I was reminded that when Walter Lantz was on top of his game, he was really, really good. This background art from 1940 is as good as Disney's short cartoons, and that's high praise indeed! A couple of wonderful pan B/Gs I would have loved to include, but there was just no way to remove the cel characters. However, I still managed eighteen pieces from one cartoon!

This digitally re-created background art is from "Knock! Knock!," an Andy Panda cartoon in which Woody Woodpecker made his debut.

Take a look, and enjoy this wonderful art from Walter Lantz and associates!

OK, I had to include this pan... the cel characters are the first frame in the sequence which pans right.
